    Day 1/September 16 2:00pm

    Pre-class task (for parent): Have the following Printables (see Printables) cut out, assembled and ready for use during class:

    - Calendar and weather wheels and components

    -Useful phrase cards (from Temas 1 & 2)

    - Lyrics to "Repertorio" (folksong, hymn, poem, scripture verse)

    Day 2 /September 18 2:00pm

    Pre-class task (for parent): In class on the 18th, we will sing the folksong (Las mañanitas) and recite the poem (Los meses) together for the first time. Please read the English translations of the folksong (p. 12 Resource Guide) and poem (pg. 14 Resource Guide) with your children before class (so that we do not have to dedicate class time to this!).

  • Week 2

    Day 1/September 23 2:00pm

    Pre-class task: Please have following PRINTABLES ready for your students to use during class:

    -Visual alphabet chart (letters with images next to them).

    -Calendar pieces (days of the week, months, numbers, etc.).

    Pre-class task:

    Please have following PRINTABLES ready for your students to use during class:

    - "La familia de Lola"

    - Story props (paper puppets)

    *I suggest using magnetic stickers or velcro and a magnetic white/chalk board or felt board (or refrigerator!) for students to use as a storyboard (see materials list - Introduction to Tierra, p 9).

    *Instructions for assembly on p. 5 of the Teacher's Lesson Guide. This is an important step as these props will be used by students and teachers every week for the remainder of the session.

    Student completes workbook (cuaderno) task. See pp.6-8 of Teacher's Lesson Guide for instructions and answers.

    (Starting this week there will be a workbook task every week for LEVEL 2 students).
